The Third LivingnLab Meting was held on 8 September 2023 in the Municipality of Ljutomer. The main purpose of the event was to gather experience and concrete proposals for measures from other regions for mitigating and adapting to climate change and its consequences as part of the preparation of the Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Action Plan of the Municipality of Ljutomer.

The General Assembly of the Association Energiestadt (European Energy Award) in Yverdon-les-Bains was a success, gathering over 100 participants under the theme “Achieving More Together.” Key discussions focused on participatory processes, resource management, and their role in effective local energy policy implementation. The assembly featured the 2ISECAP Project as a strong example of promoting cooperation among energy stakeholders and supporting localized, sustainable energy solutions. Energiestadt cities like Yverdon-les-Bains are becoming “living laboratories” for energy transition, leveraging citizen involvement and participatory planning to drive progress.

As part of the European Commission’s Net Zero Cities Mission, Padova has emerged as one of 100 European cities and 9 Italian cities selected to lead the charge toward climate neutrality by 2030. This recognition reflects the city’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, underscored by its submission of a comprehensive Climate City Contract to the European Commission this past September.

The campaign, running from 18 to 29 November, promotes León’s Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP). Activities include a presentation of the 2ISECAP Project and a guided tour of the Renewable Energy Demonstration Centre, emphasizing the vital role of renewable energy in addressing societal challenges. A video showcasing León’s efforts in mobility, buildings, green spaces, and urban services will be shared on social media to further raise awareness.

As part of the 2ISECAP project, the Municipality of Karditsa, supported by AN.KA. S.A., is promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. Key efforts include educating the public on energy-saving measures and implementing the ‘Improving Energy Efficiency of Third Sector Enterprises’ program, which upgrades energy use in businesses within the trade, services, catering, and tourism sectors. A video was produced for this purpose.

In the framework of the 2ISECAP project, the Municipality of Karditsa, supported by AN.KA. S.A., is proactively involved in raising awareness among citizens about energy conservation. Through collaboration with diverse institutions, they are leading efforts to educate the public on energy-saving measures.

On April 10, 11 and 12, Duezerocinquezero, the National Forum on Energy and Sustainability, now in its third edition, was held in Padova.
One of the first events scheduled at the Forum was dedicated to the great challenge in which the Net Zero Cities, the 100 European cities called upon by the European Commission to reach the climate neutrality goal in 2030, twenty years ahead of the European target, are involved.

On February 21st, the fifth Living Lab meeting, a collaboration between the Tartu City Government, Tartu County Municipalities Association, and Tartu Regional Energy Agency, took place. The focus of the meeting was on the opportunities of the circular economy and its role in achieving Tartu’s climate goals. The event also marked the initiation of drafting Tartu’s circular economy roadmap, a significant addition to the city’s climate and energy plan.
